    Spring is the Perfect Time to Explore the Great Outdoors by Camping in one of these Hot Spots!

    There is no time better than late spring in North Carolina to enjoy a weekend camping with your family and friends.  And, with everyone spending the majority of the last year at home, it’s also the perfect opportunity to get out and explore the state and all the exquisite beauty it has to offer!   If you’re looking to get outdoors and escape the screen time and nonstop schedules of everyday life, here are the perfect places to spend a weekend with your family enjoying our beautiful state!

    Carolina Beach State Park – Carolina Beach

    Carolina Beach State Park resides on Pleasure Island and is 761-acres of beauty and adventure for any camper to enjoy.  In total, there are 83 sites available for those wishing to bring their camper or tent along, 2 of which are wheelchair accessible.  There are 9 miles of trails that wind along the breathtaking beaches and through the surrounding forests. 

    Davidson River Campground – Brevard 

    Located within Pisgah National Forest, this campground is nestled next to the Davidson River and is ideal for those looking to enjoy the water by fishing, swimming, and even tubing.  In total, there are 144 campsites, where campers can utilize both their tents and their RVs, and everywhere you turn there is a picturesque waterfall to admire!  If you’re looking for a longer camping trip, this is also an ideal location due to the nearby restaurants, shopping, and breweries in one-of-a-kind Asheville!   

    Hanging Rock State Park – Danbury

    Do you enjoy adventure when you camp?  Then look no further than Hanging Rock.  With over 20 miles of scenic hiking trails, even the most experienced hikers will enjoy the mountaintop views with waterfalls surrounding you.  There are also plenty of trails for mountain biking, as well as rock climbing and swimming!  In total, there are 73 campsites for both tents and RVs and 5 group campsites. 

    Julian Price Campground – Blowing Rock

    Are you unsure if you want to spend your weekend outdoors along the water or within the mountains?  If so, then Julian Price is definitely the location for you!  In total, there are, 197 sites, 119 of which are for tents and 78 that serve RVs.  All of the sites are adjacent to the majestic Price Lake, a 47-acre lake that is known to be ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.  Also along the lake are two wonderful looped trials that are perfect for a day of hiking, including the popular Mountains-to-Sea Trail!  There are also various swimming holes throughout the hiking trails.   

    Lake Powhatan – Near Ashville  

    Another wonderful campground that’s just a quick drive from Asheville, giving your family the opportunity for both a weekend of outdoor adventure, as well as experiencing one of the most unique and exciting towns in North Carolina.  It also serves as the perfect campground if your family is hoping to do some swimming, as Lake Powhatan is an ideal swimming lake.  There is also ample hiking and biking throughout the campsite, and around the lake, as well.  As an added bonus, all 97 campsites have ample shade and access to clean bathrooms and hot showers!

    Pilot Mountain State Park – Pinnacle  

    The perfect outdoor getaway for families!  The hikes around the park are perfect for even the smallest members of the family and the views at the top of Pilot Mountain and the vast, surrounding peaks will impress everyone.  There are 49 total campsites that accommodate both tents and RVs, as well as two paddle-in-canoe sits along the Yadkin River!

    Smokemont Campground – Within the Great Smokey Mountains National Park in Cherokee

    The views simply don’t get better than this!  Smokemont resides within the Great Smokey Mountains and everywhere you turn, the scenery is breathtaking.  There is no cell phone reception or electricity within the campsite, serving for a calm getaway with your loved ones and nature.  A favorite for both nature enthusiasts, fishermen, and families who simply want to get away and spend quality time together without the distractions of every day life!  When you stay at one of the 142 sites, you are sure to fill your weekend with unforgettable views, adventure, and even spot some unique wildlife!
