When the temperature starts to drop its easy to want to stay inside, but we have compiled a great list of new things to check out in Durham to get you out of the house and try something new!
See some Art
21 C Hotel- Since 2015, 21c in Durham has been engaging visitors and locals alike with a multitude of art shows. You can explore the current exhibition, dine among thought-provoking works at Counting House, or lounge in the original bank vault.
Nasher Museum - The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University is a major center for the arts in Durham. The space was designed by architect Rafael Viñoly and opened in 2005.The Nasher Museum has been dedicated to building a groundbreaking collection of contemporary art.

Eno River - Eno River State Park offers several outdoor activities. It's one of the best places to get outdoors. You can kayak, hike, camp, have a picnic, or swim in Bobbitt's hole. In the summer, if the water levels are low enough, kids enjoy wading the water at Few's Ford. During the winter time, take the time to explore some new hiking trails!
Go Crafting
Crafts & Drafts NC -Crafts & Drafts is a DIY bar and bottle shop in North Durham, established in 2019. They offer self-guided craft kits for purchase that you can complete on site, while enjoying a beer, wine, or non alcoholic beverage from their on-site bar. They don’t require a reservation for small groups, so whenever you want to tap into your inner artist, you should definitely stop by!

Axe Throwing - Opened in Durham in October of 2018, Urban Axes has turned into a hot spot for a wide variety of people. Take your turn learning how to throw an axe from one of their numerous instructions, enjoy a bite to eat and a drink, or even join their Axe throwing League!
Rock Climbing- Just minutes from the heart of Bull City, the Triangle Rock Club provides 27,000 square feet of terrain. Their climbing areas include 47-foot high top ropes, lead climbing on an arch, auto-belays, and a significant amount of 16-foot bouldering. Climbers of all ages are encouraged to swing by and enjoy the facility's readily available social spaces.

DPAC - Since its opening in 2008, DPAC has become the center for live entertainment in North Carolina. Recognized for its contemporary design, DPAC features 2,700 seats, intimate sightlines, and state-of-the-art sound and video. Some of the great shows this winter include The Nutcracker, Harry Potter in Concert, and even Scotty McCreery (A local NC Native)
Jazz Club- Looking for a way to enjoy music? Stop by the Sharp 9 Gallery in Durham to enjoy a show. They have over 100 concerts a year that highlights gifted local jazz artists as well as regional and national performers. Stop by and get a new appreciation for Jazz!
