Set upon 10+ acres bordering Duke Forest, and along a meandering gravel driveway is 207 Hickory Hollow Road. This 1995 John Hartley designed and built home stands as a testament to Hartley’s visionary approach to building homes that creatively capture natural light & efficiently use space through soaring, crisp lines. Form and function blend effortlessly. This is not just a home, it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Inside the home you will notice how meticulous attention to design is in harmony with its wooded surroundings. Stepping inside the foyer, you’ll sense this truly special experience you are about to undertake. The living room features three large stunning custom windows, three of the home’s five skylights, a 13+Ft high cedar ceiling and gleaming hardwood floors that captivate and ground you. A Vermont Castings’ Radiance propane gas stove is set on a slate hearth creating an anchor point and warmth for this space. Expansive windows lead you throughout the home while simultaneously gifting you with one amazing view after another of ‘home.’

Known for designing uniquely shaped buildings inside and out, Hartley designed a highly efficient U-shaped kitchen that offers smart counter space, great storage, the luxury of stainless steel appliances, including a high-end and efficient German designed Liebherr refrigerator. There is even a nook for future planning considered into this floor plan. Sharing amazing views off the kitchen is an informal dining gathering area perfect for shared meals.

Always thinking about how a home supports a family, Hartley provided for a main floor owner’s suite designed with ease and with extended living in mind. This ensuite design offers precision built-in bookshelves adorned with crisp glass block windows that lead down a private hall offering a generous utility/all purpose storage room, a dual access owner’s walk- in cedar paneled closet, and an efficient ensuite bathroom. The owner’s bedroom features high, sun-drenched ceilings, expansive custom shaped insulated windows and richly stained moldings, including a thoughtfully placed built-in bench.
