4th of July Events Around the Triangle
If you're looking forward to watching fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July, your wait is almost over. There are plenty of places to watch the fireworks around the Triangle that have finally returned in 2022.
All Around North Carolina - Each 4th of July is Free Fishing Day at any public body of water in North Carolina. You can fish anywhere without a license though other limitations like size and lure restrictions still apply.
Apex - The Olde Fashioned Fourth of July event will be expanded over 2 days this year. The first ever fireworks show will take place on July 3rd at Hunter Street Park at 1250 Ambergate Station. It will host its traditional Olde Fashioned Fourth Event in Downtown Apex on Monday July 4th. It includes family friendly games, inflatables, and the Parade of Wheels and more.
Chapel Hill - 4th of July fireworks celebration will take place Monday at Southern Community Park at 1000 Sumac Road. Gates open at 7pm and fireworks will start around 9pm. Preservation Chapel Hill is hosting its Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration on Monday July 4th from 1-3pm on the Horace Williams House Grounds at 610 East Rosemary Street. There will be a concert by the Village Band a concert band plus free ice cream and lemonade.
Carrboro - The 4th of July Celebration on the 4th from 11am - 3pm on the Town Commons. The event includes live music and reading of the Frederick Douglass 4th of July essay. Other activities will be at Weaver Street Market starting at 9:30am.
Clayton - is celebrating in a big way with the Square to Square Independence Day Street Festival on Saturday July 2nd from 10am - 2pm. The street festival takes place on Main Street from Horne Square to Town Square featuring stiltwalkers, face painters, axe throwing, a hot dog eating and hula hoop contests, trackless train, rock climbing wall, waterslides, bike parade, snow cones and watermelon, fire truck parade and even more!
Durham - The Children's Independence Day Parade is Monday July 4th from 9am - 11am at Durham Central Park, 501 Foster Street. There will be free popsicles and tours of a fire engine as well. Fireworks after the Durham Bulls Game on the 4th will take place after the end of the 6:05pm game. Gates open for general admission after the 7th inning for those that would like to watch the fireworks from inside the stadium. Festival for the Eno at West Point on the Eno will take place on July 2nd and 4th from 10am - 6pm each day. The Stars, Stripes & Strings Music Festival will host 2 sessions, the first from 11am - 2pm and 3pm - 6pm on the 4th. There is a cost per car that includes admission for everyone in the vehicle, sparklers and there will be food trucks, vendors, carnival games and prizes.
Pittsboro - Summerfest is taking place Sunday July 3rd from 4-9:15pm in Downtown Pittsboro featuring a bicycle parade, kid's zone, pie contest, live music, beard and mustache contests and more.
Raleigh - City of Raleigh 4th of July fireworks show will take place at Dix Park on July 4th. Gates open at 6pm and fireworks start at 9:30pm. Before the show, enjoy music from the DJ stage and field games like cornhole and giant connect 4. Brier Creek Star Spangled Block Party and Fireworks show will take place Monday at 8pm with entertainment from a DJ, face painting, 360 photo booth and giveaways. Find your spot at the Brier Creek Commons around 9pm for the fireworks show.
