Fun on the water in NC!

Is there anything better than splashing around in cool water on a hot Summer day?! Just the thought of dipping my toes.. Or hey, let’s be real- the serenity of jumping into the pool, and sitting on the bottom Maybe a giant slide is more your style? From white water rafting to camping on the lake, there are some really fun choices pretty close to us. Here are a few I found to share! Let me know which ones you and your family love.

Elevated Wake Park | Located in Lexington North Carolina, this wake park is perfect for the daredevils in your family! With a custom-designed course featuring 5 towers, this is perfect for both beginners or experts. They also have an aqua park featuring a floating playground for kids of all ages!

Located outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, the U.S. National White Water is the perfect day trip for the thrill seekers in your family. It’s got white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, rappelling, and even rock climbing. This one is truly for the active set!  You might even spot some of our US Olympic Team training here too!

Tour Edenton Bay | Located in the small town of Edenton, the “Liber-Tea” takes you on a meandering tour of Edenton Bay. The boat features padded seats, a table for goodies and a canopy to keep you nice and cool. The tour is the perfect way to unwind and enjoy the quietness of life. 

 If camping is more your thing, visit Camp Lakeside at Jordan Lake! Offering over 1,000 campsites (including some for  RV life), the lake offers many different activities. 14 miles of trails are PERFECT for a good hike! Take a dip in one of their 7 swimming beaches, or rent a kayak or pontoon boat. There are also plenty of great fishing spots in the many alcoves of Jordan Lake… and you may even spot some of our American Eagles nesting in the trees at Dusk.

Fish on Falls Lake? YES!  Why not rent a boat and enjoy the whole day? Grab Grandpa, your bagged lunch, some sunscreen and launch your boat off the Hwy 50 boat launch. Bass, crappie, and plenty of catfish are just some of the possible catches of the day!

Wet N Wild Emerald Pointe | Located in Greensboro, Wet’n Wild is one of the largest waterparks in North Carolina, and features over 26 rides and attractions. With everything from the famous Wave Pool to Daredevils Drop to the Lazy river. This theme park is the perfect day trip with the family. It’s about 45 minutes from Durham & Chapel Hill by car and one of the few water parks in the Triangle area. This is definitely a day trip and one sure to please the children- of all ages!
