New Year's Celebrations Around the Triangle
There are many things to do on New Year's Eve to celebrate the incoming year and we've compiled a list for you here. And lucky for you, there is a chance for you to celebrate one of the most unique celebrations in all of America, the Acorn Drop.
At First Night Raleigh, the fun caters to all ages even doing its famous Acorn Drop twice, once at 7pm for the kids in attendance and again at midnight. Throughout downtown Raleigh, your ticket for the event includes the ferris wheel, a Main Stage live at City Plaza, Fireworks and the Acorn drop, large scale outdoor art installations, live music at many indoor venues, indoor events like improv and the Silent Disco, a children's celebrations resulting in the early countdown and more! Events for Kids
Noon Year's Eve will take place at John Chavis Memorial Park in Raleigh 9am -12pm including crafts, games, dance party, photo ops and a countdown at noon.
United Skates of America in Raleigh is hosting a Noon Year's Eve skate from 10am -12:30pm where admission includes a slice of pizza, small drink, NYE party favors, balloon drop and mock countdown.
The Noon Year's Eve Celebration at the Museum of Life and Science takes place from 10am-1pm where you can explore the science of fireworks, witness a liquid nitrogen demonstration, add your hopes and wishes to the Wishing Tree, create DIY shakers and party hats and more.
Kidzu Children's Museum's Light It Up in Chapel Hill from 10am-2pm with a twist on the traditional ball drop at noon at the Treehouse with a bubble drop.

Events for Adults
Fortnight Brewing in Cary welcomes kids until their (UK) ball drop at 7pm and after 8pm the adults only party gets going featuring music, karaoke and more. Reservations are recommended for the evening party.
A New Year's Eve Roaring 20's Dance Party at The Plant in Pittsboro sounds like a roaring good time. Starting at 6pm there will be a DJ and an apple drop at midnight. Many of the businesses on site will be open late.
Black and White New Year's Eve Party at Yonder in Hillsborough kicks off at 8pm. Dress code is reasonably fancy black and white attire and of course your dancing shoes.
Bull McCabe's in Durham is hosting their New Year's Eve party starting at 8pm. DJ Deckades starts spinning from 10:30pm-2am with a bubbly toast at midnight.
