U-Pick Berries Around the Triangle
There is nothing like fresh picked produce, especially berries in the summer time! And it can add to the fun when you pick it yourself. Just because the peak summer produce season is winding down, doesn’t mean it’s over. There are still a few places that have blueberries and blackberries and more over the rest of the summer.
Typical growing seasons in North Carolina:
Strawberries - Late April to beginning of June
Blueberries - Late May to mid-July
Blackberries - mid-June through July
Peaches - June through September
Apples - through February
Obviously timing will vary as these are only general estimates based on a chart from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture that explains the fruit and vegetable availability. Give a call or check the Facebook accounts before you head out to go picking.
